KRISH The NGO Organizes Free Medical Camp in Nandgaon
The Bhaktivedanta Vaishnavi Gurukula hosted the free medical camp and health awareness for underprivileged people in Nandgaon, Mathura on 5th of November 2017. Around 150 people were given free health check-up at the Medical Camp during the day; that includes the students and teachers of the Girl’s Gurukula, their parents and local villagers. The Medical Camp provided free tests for Blood Pressure, Blood regrouping, Blood typing, Height Measurement and offered counseling by expert Doctors and Specialists. Three Doctors from Vrindavan Arogya Deep Hospital volunteered for the medical camp, headed by Dr. Vertika Kishore, a Ladies Specialists and Gynecologists. She was assisted by Dr. S.P. Sharma and Dr. Tarun Sharma.
Apart from attending to people’s health needs, there was a Child Protection training session about “Good Touch and Bad Touch” for the students of Nandgaon Gurukula. The session was given by Sevamurti Radhika Devi Dasi, a trained Child Protection member of BGIS-Vrindavan. The girls were shown a video and trained to recognize the good touch and bad touch. They were taught how to protect themselves and report the matter to a safe adult. This program was a helpful initiative to protect our children, especially the young girls from abuse and molestation. The seminar was very informative and useful for the betterment of the students that they learned about these issues and can deal with it if they ever come across a situation like this. Dr. Vertika also gave a talk on proper hygiene and practical sanitation.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers, participants, doctors, teachers and students for their immense support and enthusiasm in making this Medical Camp a big success. Thank you so much for coming forward and for your positive contribution to the society.
