Sri Vrinda Kund Festival 2018
The Gurukula girls of Nandgaon joined the 15th Annual Kalash Yatra Festival yesterday at Vrinda Kund. Devotees from different parts of the world gathered beside the sacred lake of Pavana Sarovara. His Grace Deena Bandhu prabhu spoke about the history of Pavana Sarovara before they commenced the grand parade. The ladies carried a clay pot and they filled it with water from the lake and topped it with coconut.
Deena Bandhu prabhu headed the harinam sankirtan procession; from Pavana Sarovar they walked around the village of Nandgaon. The ladies walked along while they carried and balanced the clay pots on the top of their heads. The Nandgaon Gurukula students participated in harinam sankirtan and the girls lead the chanting. The residents of Nandagram were so proud to see their daughters and children along with huge group of international devotees chanting and dancing while they circumambulate the whole village. The party reached the top of the hill and went inside the Sri Nanda Bhavan temple. The temple hall was packed by enthusiastic devotees; when the kirtan increased its tempo, the Gurukula students became ecstatic and they jumped and danced in full jubilation. Deena Bandhu prabhu was so delighted and pleased by the blissful chanting.
The procession continued and they proceeded down to Vrinda Kund. Deena Bandhu prabhu gave wonderful stories about Srimati Vrinda Devi and the pastime in Vrinda Kund. An arati ceremony took place after the class and sumptuous Prasad were served to everyone.
