The students of Braj Gopika Vidyamandal in Nandgaon recently joined the Gita Fest 2018. The competition was organized by the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Vrindavan last Saturday, 15th of December.
There were 27 schools who participated the Bhagavad Gita competition and forty-eight students from Braj Gopika Vidyamandal competed. Four students from Nandgaon Gurukula secured the 3rd position on the recitation of Gita verses with translation for 3rd-4th Class Category. The team was composed of Brijeshwari, Prachi, Swati, and Tulsi, while eight students received consolation prizes for 1st-2nd Class Sloka Recitation Category; the teams were, Indu, Kanchan, Radhika, Deepika, Bhumika, Chanchal, Payal, and Hitanshi.
That was the first time for the Nandgaon Gurukula students to join in a competition and they really did it well. We would like to congratulate the Gurukula girls for their excellent performances. Congratulations also to the School Principal, Her Grace Kalavati Sakhi Devi Dasi Mataji, to their teacher, Her Grace Deepti Sharma Mataji and to the School Director, His Grace Raghunath Das Prabhu ji who prioritized the study of Bhagavad Gita for all the students.
