Nandgaon Gurukula Students Perform at ISKCON Delhi

The students of Braj Gopika Vidhya Mandal in Nandgaon went to New Delhi last Saturday, April 21 and performed at the grand birthday celebration of Chaitanya prabhu the son of Bir Nrsimha prabhu and Rati Narayani Devi Dasi matajee.

The birthday party of Chaitanya prabhu was held at Radha Parthasarathi ISKCON temple in East of Kailash, Delhi. Bir Nrsimha prabhu and Rati Narayani matajee invited the Gurukula girls to participate in the birthday celebration of their beloved son. The program started by more than an hour of  Harinam Sankirtan from New Delhi devotees. The girls took the stage and recited the invocation prayers and all the slokas from the 15th chapter of Bhagavad-Gita. The devotees and visitors were really impressed and applauded the girl’s expertise in Sanskrit slokas. Then they sang a Brijbasi bhajans and did a dance presentation.  The girls performed two dramas, the wonderful Damodar Lila and Cow-herding Lila. Both plays received positive audience reception. All the students really delved into their characters and it is so natural for them to act as cowherd boys and girls; since they are all Brijbasis, it makes their acting authentic.

This gave the Gurukula girls an opportunity to put into practice and enhance the skills they have been learning every Saturday in Nandgaon, as well as becoming accustomed to being on stage and in front of an audience. The show was very impressive. Overall, everyone enjoyed the young Birjbasis performances and they were mesmerized and captivated by the girls’ amazing talents.  Chaitanya prabhu’s parents were really grateful to the Gurukula girls for gracing the ceremony and making everyone felt blessed by their presence.
