Gita Jayanti is the celebration of the advent of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita. Around 5000 years ago when Lord Krishna revealed the sacred instructions of Bhagavad-Gita to his friend Arjuna. On Dec.10th the occasion of Mokshda Ekadashi, the Bhaktivedanta Vaisnavi Gurukul students joined the commemoration of this auspicious event at BGIS, Vrindavan. The school’s atmosphere reverberated with the recital of verses from chapters 5, 12 and 15 of Gita by girls of BVG. The faces of these young girls were filled with great joy. The children were very enthusiastic and ecstatic as they chanted each sloka. When one of the students were asked about her favorite verse, she exclaimed blissfully, “Whenever there is Krishna, the master of all mystics, and whenever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there wil also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power and morality. That is my opinion.”.
Definitely it was a successful program and everyone was jubilant. As stated in Gita Mahatmya, “One may cleanse himself daily by taking a bath in water, but if one takes a bath even once in the sacred Ganges water of Bhagavad-Gita, for him the dirt of material life is altogether vanquished.”
